What Is A Facelift?

A facelift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that helps you achieve a younger appearance. This procedure aims to tighten, smooth, and firm the skin on the entire face for a contoured, youthful glow. The facelift procedure has been completely modernized in recent years, and no longer carries the negative connotations of years past. Now, the innovative techniques and technologies utilized during the facelift procedure cause you to look well-rested and youthful, not shocked or surprised.

What is a Mini Facelift?

The mini facelift is a type of facelift which only targets the lower third of the face. Because this is often the most common problem area on the face, this procedure is ideal for many candidates. Using small incisions above the ears, a mini facelift can correct wrinkles and sagging around the mouth, jawline, and jowls. It is an excellent way to get rid of those grumpy looking smile lines and restore the contour of the chin.

Benefits of a Facelift

How is a Facelift Performed?

Our surgeons perform facelifts using general anesthesia. During the procedure, your surgeon will carefully place small incisions along the hairline, so there is no visible scarring. These incisions allow them access to the connective tissue beneath the skin, which is known as the SMAS layer (superficial musculoaponeurotic system). Your surgeon will then elevate the soft tissues of the face and fold a portion of the SMAS to preserve volume and tighten the muscle. He or she will then remove any excess fat or underlying tissue through the incisions. Next, he or she will pull the skin taut across the face before carefully trimming away any excess skin. Once the skin is fitted tightly on the face, your surgeon closes the incisions, and the surgery is complete.

How Long Will The Results Of A Facelift Last?

The recovery period is about two weeks, but the results of your facelift will last years to come.
